Can internet sites get my home adress from my email?
Actually speaking harvesting personal data is kind of phishing and there are many ways doing the same. But it doesn't mean by means of having email id you are exposed to the internet cloud.

With IP address provided in your DSL connection, no one will be able to get your home address but the city you live.

I have written a blog describing how the harvesting tools get personal data from a Individual. Please visit and comment here:

Feel free to ask any question on this subject, I'm here to clarify.
Reply:Yes they can do anything they want...passwords are not secure.
Reply:yes if they log your I.P address.
Reply:Yes and no. Some hackers out there have an IP logger program, this will catch your IP number and they are able to find out some information that way, but you need some skill to work a program like that.

Otherwise, only if your email has your home address attached to it. Some of the better hackers out there are able to find that information another way like hacking into eBay or something, but just for normal email itself, no, your safe on that from personal information unless you type it in.
Reply:They can't get your home address from your e-mail address, but just about anyone can get it from typing your phone number into google's search bar. You can contact google to get them to remove that information though. Don't give people you register with online like games your real phone number and that should help.
Reply:a website will only know what you put on your profile etc..

your ip address alone will not give your home address or anything else

o ebay you will however need to have your address
Reply:Dont put any real details on your computer and you will be safe.

I have never seen spam, only heard about it.
Reply:yes if it placed on letters or its in where they have cookies that they are looking into
