Clicking on a link my email diverts to another page. Is that an infection/spyware and how can I get rid of it?

Sounds like ad-ware to me, which is a type of mal-ware. Download AVG if you don't already have anti virus also Spybot Search and Destroy, as well as AdAware SE.

Run Scans using these products and then delete all the problems the scans find.

Hope this helps.

If you get a link in your mail and click on it, it's normal to get that URL open. Some mail interfaces will open in the same tab or windows, others will open in a new one. It all depends on the way the interface was designed.
Reply:Is your browser strictly Yahoo or is yours affilated as a joint program with another sponsor. eg Verizon/Yahoo?

My browser is the example above and up until recently I was able to go to my mail page without opening a new window. The new page closely resembles the Yahoo layout however, if I click on MAIL in the personal assistance block, a new page opens up. I use the email icon on my toolbar to prevent that. (the personal assistant is the upper most block on the page with 6 selections on it - mail, messenger, music, etc. and set to your preferences. If your cursor passes onto one of the icons you will get something that resembles a drop down menu)
