Can I delete my primary email and use my extra email address?

I do not wish to use my existing primary yahoo address, my son is no longer in cubscouts. I opened a extra which is more fitting to my life now. Can I delete the original and switch to my extra email. If so then how would I go about doing this and notifying my contacts in my address book. If not then what are my available options?

You can't delete your primary email address and use your second one. If you don't want your primary anymore, you would have to sign up for a whole new account.
