I need to keep my regular email for longer than it is now. How do I extend the save period without archiving?
I choose not to make extra folders for my emails and would like to just keep them on my regular email for a longer period of time. I go back to February 2007 and find I cannot bring up an attachment and then a page comes up that says "Expired." How can I extend the length of time I can keep the emails I have already read?

Your attachment with a page is all that has expired. Probably because it was time sensitive and the original poster has pulled it. The rest of your regular mail you can keep as long as you want. I have some in Yahoo Mail that is 10 years old now.

First you right click the picture and click "save image as..."
Then a window will appear choose a name for it and on the left panel you will see something tat says desktop click that and then click "save"
Finally your done a icon will appear on your desktop. i hope this helps = )

When you right click in either instance, it will ask for a file name; at the top you can move "up" in the file hierarchy until you get to your desktop if you need to.
If you want to use the picture as your desktop wallpaper, save it somewhere (the desktop itself is easiest to find); open it with Paint, save it as a .bmp file, and then tell the program to set it as your wallpaper using the file menu.

Go to your contact tab, and set up categories. You can then move your addresses into the categories. When you want to e-mail a group; just select that category. Remember to be kind and e-mail your contacts "BCC".

How do i forward an email to my friends without typing each individual email address everytime?
I have created groups for my regular email Buddys, but with the new mail (Beta) I am having trounble forwarding whether it is to an individual or group. I click on forward, then contacts, but when i click on Buddys group i get an error message. When i click on TO: on the compose email form, and click on each individual contact it takes too long to enter several contacts. I tried the tip of holding the shift and control keys down to send to several email friends and that doesn't work. It still only lets u enter one at a time.I did not have this problem until i went with your new mail system. Advise . Thanks, Polly T.

Click on this link, and a menu will drop down with an option for "Full Header."
If you select "Full Header," a new window pops up containing the full header of the message.
See it? It's got tons of computer gobbledygook, but it also has some information you can use.
You should be able to find a line that contains an 8 to 12 digit number, separated by periods.
It might look something like this:

The "123.456.78.91" represents the unique IP address of the sender's ISP. Once you identify the IP address, you can run a "whois" search to determine which ISP provides this person with Internet access.
If there's more than one Received: line, read them from top to bottom (the topmost is the most recent.)
There are several utilities available on the web to run a whois search. Here's one web site that can help you to determine which service provider is responsible for the IP address:

i did that to my fiend and he ended up calling the police on me. they figured out the ip and asked me questions like did you do this, etc. i was almost put on probation...
the prank was that the e-mail said i was going to kill him. ::(
needles to say, i learned my lesson.... computers are not playthings:(
